Christoph Willibald von Gluck

Illustration from the frontispiece of Orphée, the 1764 Paris edition of the opera, Orfeo ed Eurydice, by
Christoph Willibald von Gluck

A scene from Gluck's opera, Orfeo ed Euridice (Orpheus and Eurydice), is shown on this 1993 stamp from San Marino.
The Italian quotation on the stamp reads: Che farò senza Euridice? Dove andrò senza il mio ben? (What shall I do without Euridice? Where will I go without my love?).
These are the opening words of the opera's famous aria entitled "Che farò senza Euridice?" (What shall I do without Eurydice?). This aria is also known by its French title, "J'ai perdu mon Eurydice" ("I have lost my Eurydice?).
