This little overture is prelude to one of the lightest of Mozart's compositions, an operetta entitled "Der Schauspieldirektor," written in 1786. The main theme is stated at once in full orchestra. The second theme follows in the first violins. After development, recapitulation follows and a Coda based on the main theme closes the overture.
