Telemann was a friend of Bach and a prolific composer. Telemann music includes: church music including over 40 settings of the Passion and many cantatas and oratorios; over 40 operas; numerous overtures and concertos; A number of his instrumental works were published together in his Tafelmusik or Musique de table (1733).
